Stensättersskolan is a centrally located and relatively new F-6 school (grades 1-6) in Katrineholm with a leisure center and an adapted primary school that opened for the autumn term of 2022.

The school is structured with three home bases for F-6 and a fourth for students in the adapted primary school. This creates smaller units while providing good opportunities for close collaboration and buddy activities.

The school has fine studios for art, craft, and music. There is also the possibility of outdoor teaching on our terrace, and we are within walking distance to both the forest and the city center.

Job Description

As a student support assistant with us, you are a support and resource for an individual student or a few students. This means you are present as support regarding practical and social challenges that may arise during a school day or at the leisure center. You are present during lessons to clarify the teacher's instructions and act as an extra adult who can support the students in their schoolwork. You work actively to strengthen the student's independence and participation in the school community. You use picture support and signs as natural aids in daily communication.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have upper secondary education as a childcare worker or vocational training as a student assistant with good knowledge of children's development, learning, and care needs. If you have experience in similar assignments, it is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities.

You must have good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing.

You are engaged and flexible, and open to many solutions and working methods. You have an easy time creating and maintaining good relationships with people. You are a clear and secure adult with social competence, good leadership skills, and empathy. You are a pronounced team player who wants to contribute to students' development through interaction and dialogue. You are a straightforward and open person with good structure, organizational ability, as well as action and initiative power. You view students' development from a holistic perspective.
