About Us As Municipal Director, you are the highest-ranking official in the municipality and lead the entire municipal administration. You report directly to the Municipal Board and serve as the link between the political leadership and the civil service organization. You are responsible for the municipal administration and represent the municipality in external contexts. About the Job As Municipal Director, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing the municipality's operations. You lead with a holistic perspective and put residents' needs at the center by creating accessible services of good quality. You promote dialogue, participation, and transparency throughout the organization. In this role, you will: • Lead the municipality's administrative organization and its managers • Ensure that political decisions are implemented, followed up on, and translated into practical action • Be responsible for the municipality's economy, budget, work environment, and overall governance • Drive strategic development and change work throughout the organization • Represent the municipality in external contexts and develop relationships with businesses, authorities, and other actors • Work with environmental scanning and long-term development of the municipality's operations You are expected to actively contribute to strengthening the holistic view in the organization and create conditions for high quality in the municipality's core activities, such as schools, support and care, as well as community building, and ensure that Tomelilla is a safe and functioning municipality.

About You We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader with the ability to drive development and efficiency in organizations and operations. You are a confident manager who understands the conditions of a politically governed organization and has a clear ability to lead through others. Requirements • University degree at least at bachelor's level with a focus relevant to the position • Executive and leadership training at a strategic level • Several years of experience leading larger organizations • Experience working in public operations and in politically governed organizations from several workplaces • Experience in strategic organizational and operational development • Good ability to handle changed conditions in a structured way and to find constructive solutions to challenges • Experience and knowledge of the municipality's assignments and legislation • Good understanding of the municipality's core activities such as community building, education, care, and culture • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing • You have a great interest in digitalization and AI and a good ability to translate digital opportunities into practical operational benefits. You are accustomed to working in digital systems and see technology as a natural tool for developing working methods, increasing efficiency, and strengthening service.

Meritorious • Experience with business issues, limited companies, and group formation • Experience representing operations in media and other external contexts • Good knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English

You are pragmatic and solution-oriented and have great respect for democratic decisions and residents' priorities.
