The goal of gender equality work in Sweden is for women and men to have the same power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. The work covers issues such as influence, economy, health, education, work, and bodily integrity.
The Swedish Gender Equality Agency is responsible for ensuring that the government's gender equality policy has an impact by contributing to the effective implementation of gender equality policies. The Agency's task is to coordinate, monitor, and provide support in various ways within the areas of gender equality. The Swedish Gender Equality Agency is an LGBTQIA+ strategic agency, which means that the Agency, in its operations, should promote the equal rights and opportunities of LGBTQIA+ people.
Within the division, we are responsible for all administrative and operationally related processes at the Agency. This includes, among other things, economy, law, procurement, registry, IT, operational follow-up, HR, communication, state grants, and other administrative processes. The division is divided into four units; law and economy, HR and administration, state grants, and communication.
We are now looking for a Controller for the Law and Economy unit.
Job Responsibilities
As a Controller, you contribute to the Agency's work with steering, planning, and follow-up, and support managers in this area.
The work involves, together with the Head of Finance and the Controller, supporting managers in planning and following up on their operations. In the role of Controller, you will work with analyzing the effects of the Agency's work as well as indicators. The work also includes consolidating work with operational planning, quarterly follow-ups, annual reports, and contributing to the work with budget foundations.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- An academic degree in economics or another area that the employer deems relevant for the position
- Several years of experience in economic and operational management within public administration
- Experience in a coordinating role
- Very good knowledge of Excel and Word
- Very good written and oral skills in Swedish
- Good skills in compiling texts and presentations
We consider the following to be meritorious
- Experience working in the economic system Agresso
- Experience working with system support for economic and operational follow-up
- Training in effective management that develops the public sector
Meritorious means that it is an advantage if you meet the following requirements, but they are not mandatory to be considered for the position.

You are flexible and service-oriented, which means that you adapt well to the needs of the operations and deliver high-quality solutions. Since you will collaborate with colleagues from different units, it is also important that you have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and can convey complex economic issues in an understandable way. You thrive in being a supporting function for the operations and are happy to contribute to developing and improving processes to create even more efficient work.
Employment Information
The position is a permanent full-time position located at the Swedish Gender Equality Agency's office in central Gothenburg. We apply a 6-month probation period. Start date by agreement. Travel for work may occur.
A work test may occur in the recruitment process.
