Our educational activities are located in our three urban areas: Ramnäs, Virsbo, and Surahammar. This includes preschool, preschool class, comprehensive school, adapted comprehensive school, after-school centers, and youth clubs.

You are welcome to a newly started and development-oriented unit where we work together to ensure all students' right to an equal education, in accordance with the Education Act. The unit Smedjan (The Forge) targets students in need of special support, where teaching is organized in a special teaching group with a high degree of structure, accessibility, and security.

The students come from Hammarskolan, the municipality's joint upper secondary school, and have a need for a calm, predictable, and well-organized learning environment. Here, we work systematically to remove obstacles to learning and create conditions for each student to develop as far as possible based on their own prerequisites.

We are looking for colleagues who want to help build an operation where the student's development is at the center – both academically and socially. The work is characterized by a relational approach, clarifying pedagogy, and active work for the students' learning, health, and well-being.

In the operation, teachers and resource teachers/resource pedagogues work closely together and in collaboration with other staff, student health services, guardians, and external actors. Together, we create a holistic support system around the student. The goal is for every student to be given the conditions to reach the knowledge goals in comprehensive school and thereby qualify for a national upper secondary program.

We work continuously with school development and systematic quality work – where your competence and commitment become an important part of our joint development.

Job Description

We are looking for you who are at least certified preschool teacher/after-school center teacher and want to work with support in a special teaching group for students in grades 7-9. The student group is characterized by extensive needs for special support, where your role is to work close to the students and build relationships to contribute to a good learning environment and support in teaching.

You are with the student throughout the entire school day, both during lessons and at breaks, as well as during transitions. Together with the responsible subject teacher, you work closely with the students to create conditions for learning towards the goals and participation in teaching. You actively work on adapting teaching, developing alternative working methods, and using compensatory aids to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment.

You are involved in building up the new unit Smedjan, where structure, clarity, and predictability are central parts. Together with colleagues, you shape working methods and routines that give the students the best possible conditions to reach their goals.

The work involves close collaboration with colleagues and student health services, as well as continuous dialogue with guardians and other actors around the student. You are an active part of the joint work to create a safe, trust-building, and developmental school environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for two certified resource teachers/resource pedagogues with at least the qualification for teaching in preschool/after-school center.

  • You have a good ability to create structure and clarity in teaching contexts and can adapt teaching to students' different needs.
  • Your work is based on the Education Act's requirements that students should be given the guidance, stimulation, and special support they need to reach as far as possible in their knowledge development.
  • You are secure in your leadership and have the ability to create trustful relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • You work solution-focused, flexibly, and independently with a clear student focus.
  • Your working style is characterized by clarifying pedagogy and an inclusive approach.
  • You have a strong belief that all students can develop and reach their goals with the right support and high, realistic expectations.
  • You see collaboration as a key to success and actively contribute to professional learning in the work team.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Merits: Education in special education and/or experience working with students in need of special support, for example in a resource school or special teaching group. Knowledge of neuropsychiatry is also a merit.

Employment and Terms

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.

Before you can be employed, you need to show a clean extract from the police's suspicion register and the criminal record register, which is not more than 6 months old.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal status together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
