We are looking for a brass instructor (trumpet, trombone, French horn, baritone, tuba) for a temporary position during the 2026/2027 academic year, as our regular teacher is on parental leave. Arboga Culture School has a well-functioning brass program with students on all brass instruments. In our 'Starten' (Introduction) activity, we welcome children from the age of 7, focusing on learning musical fundamentals combined with instrument knowledge. The orchestra activities follow the individual teaching throughout the entire educational chain.

Arboga Culture School has over ten employees working with instrument, singing, dance, and film education. The collaboration among colleagues is excellent; the wind instructors have their own work team, but we collaborate extensively across subject boundaries. Teaching takes place primarily in Nicolai Kulturhus, where you will have your own workspace. The wind orchestras have a well-equipped teaching room, and we have a large wind music library due to the long wind music tradition in Arboga.

• Teaching in all brass instruments
• Leading orchestra activities – from beginner to advanced levels

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a relevant university-level education in music pedagogy, or equivalent competence acquired in other ways. You may also be a student and gain valuable experience for your future career choice through this temporary position.

About You

You enjoy working with others, are flexible, and solution-oriented. Together with the manager, colleagues, and students, you actively plan and participate in activities based on the culture school's goals and mission.

To succeed in the role, you have a good ability to adapt the activities to the student's needs and work to maintain good contact with guardians. You are open and curious, and willing to constantly develop your methods together with your colleagues. You are a good leader with a strong desire to collaborate and have initiative. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To work in activities involving children and young people, you are required to submit an extract from your criminal record. The form can be downloaded from www.polisen.se. Form for work in school or preschool.

A B-driver's license and access to a car are an advantage as we conduct teaching in Götlunda.

Working Hours/Duration

60% during the autumn term 2026, with an extension to the spring term 2027, approx. 40%.
