We are currently looking for a qualified study and career counselor to join Rudbeckianska Gymnasium in Västerås. Are you passionate about supporting students on their path to higher education or employment? We warmly welcome your application!

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for guiding our students as they prepare for future studies and careers. Your most important tool will be the personal conversation, but you will also lead various information sessions and other activities designed to support students in making decisions about their future. In addition to standard counseling duties, the role includes marketing work.

You will be part of the school's student health team. Together with the school counselor, school nurse, and special education teacher, you will work within a unified student health service, maintaining close contact with teachers and school leadership. You will meet regularly to discuss overarching issues, work proactively and preventatively, and address current student cases. Collaborating with guardians and other professionals inside and outside the school is also a key part of the role.

You will primarily work with one or more of our programs, and the specific assignment may be influenced by your previous experience from high school.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a study and career counselor. You have good digital skills and a strong commitment to students' learning and development. Previous experience in counseling is an asset for the position. As a person, you are confident in your role. You enjoy collaborating with others and are quick to take initiative. If you have an interest in contributing to the school's marketing activities, we view this as a merit. The position involves independent work, so we expect you to be able to structure and drive your work forward effectively.

During the interview, you must prove your citizenship. This can be done with a passport or alternatively a certificate of residence together with an ID document.
