The school is located in a beautiful natural setting, 2 miles west of Sala, and we have approximately 100 students from preschool class to grade 6. Adjacent to the school is also an after-school center and a large schoolyard that invites to activities and movement.
Job Responsibilities
In the role of After-School Center Teacher with us, you will be part of a team with colleagues, and the work takes place in year-group teams from a full-day perspective where collaboration is important. You are responsible for teaching in the after-school center. During the school day, you collaborate with the school, including resource time/teaching in grades 4-6. In your daily work, you have a strong focus on our students' safety, influence, and participation.
Qualifications
As an After-School Center Teacher, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, listen and communicate, and contribute to a calm and safe school environment. You should also have knowledge of child development and learning, as well as the ability to adapt teaching based on the group and individual students' needs and prerequisites. You are secure and independent in your work and find it easy to collaborate with educators, student health services, and the principal. You have the ability to individually take responsibility for and structure your tasks.

For us, it is important that you have a positive view of the assignment, good collaboration skills, and see opportunities in working at a rural school. You work with a clear focus and have good structure in your work. You always strive to develop both yourself and the learning environment you work in together with your work team. You have good knowledge of the Swedish National Curriculum for Compulsory School (Lgr22) and work consciously to ensure that all students feel included, safe, and achieve set goals. We see that you have a solution- and result-oriented approach and that you have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in the after-school center, or alternatively, a degree granting eligibility for teacher certification or similar education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
Merits:
- Previous experience working as an After-School Center Teacher with resource time in class.
- Experience with students having self-care plans in school.
- Documented experience working with students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF).
It is an advantage if you have experience with low-affective handling and have knowledge of alternative communication methods or cognitive aids for communication.
Employment Terms
100% Permanent Position
Start: Autumn Term 2026
Individual salary setting applies.
Probationary period may apply.
Requirement for a police certificate upon offer of employment. This according to the Act on Register Control in School, After-School Center, and Preschool Activities. The Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14).
