We are an independent primary and lower secondary school located in central Västerås, with approximately 860 students in grades 4–9. We are a profile school specializing in dance and choir, giving our students the opportunity to combine their academic studies with cultural activities. We are now looking for a Special Education Teacher – a key member of our Student Health Team

We need your expertise as a special education teacher in mathematics for our students in grades 4–9. The role involves providing support to individual students, small groups, and support within whole-class teaching. The position also includes close collaboration with other educators and being part of the school’s Student Health Team. The team consists of the Principal/Headteacher, Deputy Principals, Special Needs Educator, Special Education Teacher, School Counselor, School Nurse, Study and Career Counselor, School Psychologist, School Doctor, and Social Pedagogue. Together, we ensure the best possible conditions for student learning and development.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who hold a degree as a Special Education Teacher or Special Needs Educator, or are currently studying towards such a qualification. We also require that you are a certified teacher in primary/lower secondary education with qualifications in mathematics.

To thrive in this role, you are well-versed in the national curriculum documents and can translate these into learning that is understandable and meaningful for the students. You have strong knowledge in mathematics and literacy development, and you view the use of digital aids as a natural part of your work.

You are a colleague who sees, listens, and acts as a support for individual students both inside and outside the classroom, while also supporting your colleagues.

Terms of Employment

The position is a permanent employment starting as soon as possible, according to agreement. Probationary employment applies. The position may be filled before the application deadline as interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.
