Job Description

As a University Lecturer, your primary duties will involve teaching. Teaching also includes supervision, examination, course evaluation, and course development. Collaboration is an integrated part of the university's research and educational mission, and as a University Lecturer, you will actively contribute to the university's development work. The duties also include general administration, competence development, and participation in daily operations, as well as work within the subject area and department.

Your duties will consist of teaching in marketing and statistics, which are two important sub-disciplines within our business administration programs. This includes teaching in areas such as international marketing, industrial marketing, and consumer marketing, as well as teaching introductory courses in statistics and quantitative methods for economists.

Teaching takes place at both undergraduate and advanced levels and may also include distance learning courses. Your role involves planning and conducting teaching for our economics students, both independently and in collaboration with teaching teams.

Eligibility Requirements

We are looking for you who have demonstrated pedagogical skill and hold a Master's degree or equivalent competence.

The pedagogical skill must be documented in such a way that the quality of previous work can be assessed.

To be employed as a teacher at MDU, higher education pedagogy training or equivalent knowledge is required. Those who are employed but lack higher education pedagogy training will be offered to undergo such training during their employment within two and a half years. The higher education pedagogy training at Mälardalen University corresponds to ten weeks of education.

The following eligibility requirements apply for this position, in addition to those established in the Employment Regulations at MDU.

Eligible for the position is one who has completed a Master's degree in Business Administration and can demonstrate previous experience of teaching in marketing and statistics.

The applicant must possess very good statistical knowledge and be able to show experience in applying these skills, as well as pedagogical experience in teaching statistics to business administration students.

Ability to teach in both Swedish and English is a requirement.

Assessment Criteria

The assessment criteria shall include both the degree of skill required for the position and the ability and suitability otherwise required to perform the duties well.

In addition to the assessment criteria established in the Employment Regulations at MDU, special weight will be placed on the following for this position. Merits for the position include good knowledge of SPSS and experience working with larger student groups.
