About Us
Fagersta Municipality's vision is "We shall be the best at teaching." All students are to develop based on knowledge goals and their own prerequisites. Welcome to work at a well-functioning primary school with experienced, engaged, and qualified teachers!
At Mariaskolan, we have approximately 55 employees and 300 students. The school has three work teams: preschool class/recreation center, grades 1–3, and grades 4–6. Each team has a team leader. The school operates with two parallel classes in all grades. Additionally, collaboration staff from the recreation center work in grades 1–2. The school's student health team consists of a special needs teacher, counselor, school nurse, deputy principal, and principal. Access to a school doctor and school psychologist is also available.
We work with systematic quality work using "The Model." Evaluation tools and annual calendars have been developed jointly by the municipality's primary schools.
Currently, competence development is ongoing regarding SKUA (Systematic Knowledge-Developing Work) and language- and knowledge-developing approaches. We are also conducting extensive work regarding NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) diagnoses to ensure good prerequisites for all students.
Job Description
You will work as a resource during school hours. One of your tasks may be to provide support and care for children with diabetes, including blood sugar monitoring and insulin administration. You must have the ability to create a safe and inclusive environment for all children, as well as collaborate with guardians and school staff to ensure the children's well-being.
Qualifications
A childcare education and pedagogical education, or other relevant education, is meritorious, as is experience working with children in school or recreation centers. A nursing assistant education or good knowledge of diabetes management and experience working with children with diabetes is also meritorious.
We are looking for a person with a well-developed ability to build good and sustainable relationships. You have good initiative and self-drive, can work independently, and enjoy working well with others. You have strong communication skills. You are calm and confident. You enjoy developing and helping people and possess strong social competence, particularly in communication with students and school staff.
You enjoy being outdoors and can handle physical activities. You have experience with schools and knowledge and experience in working with students with special needs. You have good command of Swedish, both spoken and written. Personal suitability is of great importance; flexibility, humor, and a calm, solution-oriented personality are prerequisites for success in the role.
You have the ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy, and respect. You are unpretentious and acknowledge and reward others' contributions.
