We are now looking for a personal assistant for a cheerful and active 8-year-old boy with great zest for life and many interests. He enjoys speed and mischief and particularly likes playing with balls and cars, going on outings, and throwing stones and pinecones into the lake. He also loves taking the bus, tram, and elevator, as well as listening to music, singing, and flipping through books. During the summer, he loves swimming at Lilla Amundön, which is why it is important that you, as an applicant, are a confident swimmer.

Indoors, he moves around crawling, and outdoors he uses his wheelchair, which he rolls himself with some assistance on hills and uneven terrain.

He lives with his family in Askim in a terraced house with an enclosed garden and a ramp for increased independence. The boy has epilepsy – experience with this is meritorious but not a requirement.

👉 The position is initially a hourly employment, and working hours are primarily scheduled for weekends, Saturday and/or Sunday, approx. 14:00–17:00, every or every other weekend according to agreement. There may also be opportunities for some afternoons or evenings during the week.

You will help with, among other things:

• 🛁 Personal hygiene and care.
• 👤 Dressing and undressing.
• 🍽️ Meal times.
• 🚶 Transfers and mobility.
• 🚿 Toilet and shower visits.
• 🤝 Social activities and leisure interests.
• 🎲 Above all: play, mischief, and creating a secure and fun daily life.

• 🏊‍♂️ Are a confident swimmer.
• 🚭 Are non-smoking.
• 🗣️ Have basic Swedish in speech and writing.
• 💪 Have good physical ability as the position involves some lifting.
• 🤝 Are secure, proactive, and independent.
• 😄 Have a sense of humor and preferably retain a childlike spirit.
• 👂 Are perceptive, flexible, and resourceful.
• 🌿 Enjoy being active and participating in various outdoor and daily activities.

Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) is meritorious but not a requirement. The boy has limited verbal communication but is very expressive and communicates in his own way. Therefore, it is important that you are perceptive and can read and understand his signals, as well as see the individual behind the words.
