Description
We are looking for an instructor for the Vehicle and Transport program with a focus on trucks and mobile machinery. The assignment involves working with students in grades 2 and 3 on the service, maintenance, and repair of heavy vehicles, as well as contributing to the students' practical and professional development.
The position is a fixed-term appointment during the academic year 2026/2027, starting in August 2026 and ending in June 2027. The appointment is linked to a regular teacher's leave of absence. If the regular teacher does not return to work, there may be an opportunity for extension or conversion to a permanent position.
Your future tasks
As an instructor on the Vehicle and Transport program, you work with the service, maintenance, and repair of heavy vehicles while mentoring and instructing students in grades 2 and 3 in their practical learning. Students train in the school's workshop environment to develop the knowledge and skills required for upcoming work-integrated learning (APL) and future work in the industry.
In this role, you combine your professional expertise with a pedagogical approach and contribute to creating an educational environment that is instructive, safe, and professional. You may also mentor students in both theoretical and practical moments, in the classroom as well as in the workshop, together with other teachers in an engaged work team where collaboration and joint responsibility for the quality of education is a natural part of everyday life.
Tasks include among other things:
- Plan, carry out, and follow up on service, maintenance, and repair work on heavy vehicles.
- Mentor and instruct students in practical work tasks and contribute to their professional development.
- Participate in teaching and support students' learning in both the workshop and the classroom.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where students are given the conditions to develop and reach their goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop the education and ensure high quality in teaching.
- Build and maintain contacts with companies and organizations within the vehicle industry to strengthen the collaboration between school and working life.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have the qualifications and experience required for the assignment. You have a genuine interest in sharing your knowledge and contributing to the development of future professionals in the vehicle industry.
To thrive in the role, you are a positive and solution-oriented person who takes initiative and sees opportunities even when conditions change. You collaborate well with both students, colleagues, and external partners and appreciate working in teams towards common goals.
You have a pedagogical approach, are clear in your communication, and create trusting relationships. At the same time, you are flexible, responsible, and have the ability to adapt your support based on students' different needs and conditions.
We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for you who want to contribute to a safe, professional, and developmental learning environment where students are given the best possible conditions to succeed.
