In preparation for the 2025–2026 school year, we are looking to develop school development work in the after-school center (fritidshem). As a Lead Teacher (Förstelärare) in the after-school center, you will be based at Treälvsskolan with the goal of raising the quality of teaching across the entire Lit school district, which includes Treälvsskolan, Häggenås School, and Bringåsen School.

Treälvsskolan is located approximately 20 kilometers north of Östersund and is a comprehensive school (Grades F–9) with an attached after-school center and youth club. We are close to nature and outdoor activities. The school also features a sports hall, swimming pool, multi-arena, and ice rink. Both the school and the after-school center are active participants in the PAX values concept, which aims to create calm, safety, joy, and a conducive environment for study. In the Lit school district, we have a positive view of students and high expectations. Our goal is to create a high-quality operation with a high level of knowledge, together with guardians and students. Together, we can make a difference every day!

Responsibilities

As a teacher in the after-school center, you are responsible for the teaching activities. The role involves complementing learning in primary school by planning, implementing, and following up on after-school activities, while also supporting students' social development. You work from a whole-day perspective, where school, break-time activities, and after-school care are equally important for students to develop, feel safe, and meet knowledge requirements.

You collaborate with other school staff to ensure a good learning and working environment for both students and staff, and you participate in the school's development work. The role includes overall responsibility for students' social and academic development, based on the mental plate model.

In parallel with your teaching duties, as a Lead Teacher, you drive systematic development work to increase student goal achievement, together with the principal and other staff across the entire school district. In your role as Lead Teacher, you work to create conditions for a holistic approach to the student's entire school day at both an organizational and practical level. You handle the after-school center's complementary tasks to the school and are responsible for the systematic quality work in the after-school center based on the school's prioritized areas. The Lead Teacher appointment covers one year with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled educator who, through their practice and leadership, wants to develop our operations. You have a strong commitment to after-school activities, a genuine interest in students' development and learning, see opportunities, are flexible, initiate development efforts, and dare to try new working methods. You have a professional attitude and are good at building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues in the school district.

To be eligible for this position, you must have a teaching license with qualification for the after-school center. If you have the will and ability to drive development and lead others in collegial learning, you are warmly welcome to apply for this position with us!

Recruitment Process

In this recruitment process, we will ask you for an extract from the criminal record register. Interviews may take place on an ongoing basis. We ask that you attach your CV and a cover letter to your application. Grades and certificates do not need to be sent initially; we ask you to provide these if an interview is scheduled.
