Norra School is a preschool class to grade 3 school with approximately 140 students. We work in teams and actively engage in collegial learning. The teaching in the school and the after-school center is based on the values, mission, and overarching goals and guidelines outlined in parts 1 and 2 of the national curriculum. Our school is an inspiring workplace where the student is at the center. Everyone should feel included, responsible, and secure. At Norra School, we have a positive view of students and high expectations. We take our roles as adult role models seriously. Collegial learning is central to everyone at the school; we learn from and with each other to develop our operations. Your new job

As a student assistant, you will work as support for students during lessons. You will also act as support in social interactions if needed, and be the person present for students in learning situations, providing them with care. You work to ensure students can reach their goals and to create a positive environment for their learning. Therefore, in your work, you must be able to adapt support according to the students' needs and prerequisites. As a student assistant, you work with individual students or with a group, depending on the need.

Common tasks

  • Student support in the classroom, but also during various activities on the playground.
  • Support the student(s) in planning, prioritizing, and completing schoolwork.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff.

Your qualifications

Requirements

  • Trained student assistant or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.

Merits

  • Good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them in daily work.
  • Previous experience working with children in need of special support.
  • A strong interest in pedagogical challenges and the courage to challenge yourself and your colleagues to think about development.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.

You challenge and inspire students and work for active student influence. You also have good collaboration skills and see it as a matter of course to have a clear, open dialogue with students, colleagues, and guardians. Start date: Beginning of the autumn semester.

Grades/certificates do not need to be sent initially; we ask you to provide them if an interview becomes relevant.
