Job Description

As a student assistant, you will work closely with a student who needs extra support throughout the school day. A central part of the role is to provide communicative support through Swedish Sign Language (TSP) and to adapt communication to the student's individual prerequisites.

If you have experience with CI (cochlear implants), this is valuable as you can contribute to a safe and responsive communicative environment where the student's needs and signals are noticed and reinforced.

You support the student in teaching by clarifying instructions, creating structure, and helping the student understand and participate in both learning situations and social contexts. The work also includes practical moments during the day where the student needs support.

The position includes work at the after-school center (fritidshem). There, you become part of the regular work team and actively participate in planning and implementing activities for the entire student group. At the same time, you continue to be a communicative and social support for the student you follow.

You collaborate closely with the class teacher, special education teacher, and other pedagogues to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. Your work contributes to the student feeling included, understood, and encouraged both at school and at the after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have education and/or experience within pedagogy or the child and youth care sector. You have experience with or a strong interest in working with students in need of special support.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Swedish Sign Language (TSP).
• Ability to adapt communication and working methods according to the student's needs.

Merits:

• Experience working with students with hearing impairments.
• Knowledge of and preferably experience working with students who use CI (cochlear implants).
• Previous work in schools or other educational activities.
