About the Workplace

The Adapted Comprehensive School in Sala is a municipal school offering education from Pre-K to Grade 9. Here, teaching is conducted within the Adapted Comprehensive School's focus areas of subjects and subject areas. We also have after-school care and an after-school club. We have approximately 60 students and 40 staff members. Grades Pre-K to 6 are located at Åkraskolan, and grades 7–9 are located in Building C at Kungsängen Gymnasium.

The schools have a student health team consisting of the principal, deputy principal, school nurse, school psychologist, counselor, and special education teacher.

Physical education lessons are held at Kungsängen Gymnasium's sports hall and at Åkraskolan.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a teacher qualified to teach Physical Education and Health in grades Pre-K to 9. You should be interested in working based on the idea that movement and play are important elements in the entire school's operations throughout the day. You work to ensure that students feel involved, seen, and safe.

Your duties as a teacher include planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work individually and in teams, based on the Adapted Comprehensive School's curriculum. You will be part of a team with assistants and other teachers. Together, you are responsible for reaching each individual student and strengthening their knowledge development. You are also responsible and driving force behind our Movement Initiative and our collaboration with SISU. We work with positive reinforcement of students' strengths and have a solution-oriented approach. We also work with various communication aids such as sign support, picture support, PODD books, and PECS.

You engage in collegial exchange with other teachers and collaborate closely with guardians and other professionals within, for example, student health services and habilitation. We want you to contribute together with the team to ensure the operation maintains high quality. You want to be part of our vision and develop our goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching degree with qualifications to teach Physical Education and Health. We consider it an advantage if you have experience working with children and young people with special needs. We also look for you who have good experience/knowledge of working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), ICT, and various digital pedagogical tools. You are an engaged and competent teacher who is passionate about developing young people.

We are looking for you who are calm and stable as a person and who can convey this in your learning environment. You have great patience and the ability to create safety and understanding for each student. You have a genuine interest in people and the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Personal suitability is given great weight.

Terms of Employment

Permanent full-time position.

Start date August 2026 or as agreed.

Individual salary setting.

Probationary employment may be applied. Requirement for a certificate of conduct upon offer of employment. This according to the Act on Register Control in School, After-School, and Preschool Activities. The Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14).
