We are looking for a Family Guide and Coordinator for our Open Preschool and Family Center in Hallstahammar

As one of our employees is retiring, we are now looking for a new colleague for our popular Open Preschool and Family Center in Hallstahammar. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new operation from the ground up.

About the operations

The Open Family Operations is an important meeting place for parents with children aged 0–6 years, located centrally in Hallstahammar. The operations are part of the Family Center, which serves as a hub for the municipality's work on parenthood, collaboration, and support for families.

At the Family Center, in addition to the Open Preschool staff, there are 10 family therapists, a team leader, and a school social worker providing additional support to children and families. You will work closely with these colleagues, as well as a family therapist who shares tasks at the family center. We also have good collaboration with the Child Health Center and Maternal Health Center at the local health center, and we are currently in the process of launching a joint Family Center.

The unit also includes therapists and housing support workers who provide support and treatment to the municipality's adult residents.

Responsibilities

The position is a combination of the role of educator/family guide at the Open Preschool and coordinator at the Family Center. Since the municipality and region are currently launching a family center, you will play a central role in designing and developing the operations together with other participants.

At the Open Preschool, you are responsible for the pedagogical operations in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act. As a coordinator, you plan and coordinate the work at the Family Center in collaboration with regional staff within child and maternal health care.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Having overall responsibility for the content of the operations, as well as leading, planning, evaluating, and developing the work based on set goals.
• Leading activities for children and parents, building good relationships, and being a conversation partner when needed.
• Collaborating with the municipality's family therapists, maternal/child health care, other units within individual and family care, and external actors such as libraries, public dental care, and non-profit organizations.
• Providing support and guidance to parents and helping them navigate correctly among various authorities and community contacts.
• Occasionally being responsible for activities at other locations, such as excursions.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have a teacher's education with a focus on preschool or a social work degree with relevant experience. You should have several years of experience working with children and parents.

• Experience working at an open preschool or family center.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working in multicultural environments.
• Training in ABC and Parenthood in Sweden.

You are confident, responsible, and have strong collaboration skills. You are proactive and thrive driving development work in a politically governed organization. You are professional, relationship-building, and meet every individual with respect and sensitivity. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Other:

• A driver's license for a manually shifted car is required.
