Do you see yourself as a pedagogical and relationship-building person who finds joy in making a difference for students? We are now looking for school support staff for two fixed-term part-time positions at Södermalmsskolan.
We are a municipality that puts the student first!
Södermalmsskolan belongs to the central school area and is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 850 students and many competent employees. Premises and the schoolyard are distributed across grades F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, where each stage has its naturally defined area with space for play and creativity.
Kristinehamn Municipality has approximately 24,000 inhabitants and is located on the shore of Lake Vänern in Värmland. The city offers a beautiful and accessible archipelago environment, an idyllic city center, and opportunities for an active and varied leisure life for both children and adults.

Job Responsibilities
As school support staff, you help create a safe, fun, and developmental school day for our lower primary school students. As school support staff, you support students both in the classroom and during breaks, work closely with teachers, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. You are a secure adult who sees every student's needs and helps them develop both academically and socially.
One position is for school support staff at Södermalmsskolan's after-school care center at 60%, primarily in the afternoons. This involves supporting and helping students handle various situations, both in their personal development and academic progress. You will also participate in the pedagogical work together with the after-school staff.
The second position is for school support staff at Södermalmsskolan F-3 special education group at 50%, mornings only.
Qualifications
Formal Competencies
- Upper Secondary School Diploma (required): We prefer that you have studied the Child and Youth Sector Programme or the After-School Leader Education.
- Knowledge of functional variations: Understanding of how different functional variations affect students' learning (meritorious).
- Work experience: Experience working in schools for younger ages (meritorious).
Personal Competencies
We are looking for someone who is self-reliant and confident in taking personal responsibility in daily work. You have the ability to adapt to different situations and needs, and see flexibility as a natural part of working in a school environment. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, students, and guardians and contribute to a positive and professional work climate.
We value that you are good at building good relationships and trust through a listening and respectful approach. You have pedagogical insight and understanding of students' different prerequisites and needs, and can support students in both learning and social development in an engaging and secure manner.

Employment Terms
- Type of employment: Fixed-term employment.
- Duration: 6 months or longer.
If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and are offered employment, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
