About the Department
The Individual and Family Care (IFO) is a business area focused on providing good service and support to our citizens and is responsible for official authority tasks. IFO in Eda Municipality works to provide support, protection, and help to children, young people, adults, and families in various life situations. The operations have a special focus on early and preventive interventions as well as collaboration with other actors to strengthen individuals' security, health, and opportunities for positive development. The work is based on the social services mandate and is built on legal certainty, participation, and respectful treatment. The work is carried out both for the individual and at the group level. The operations are based in pleasant premises near the railway station in central Charlottenberg.

Job Responsibilities
In the role of School Social Worker, you have overall responsibility for the strategic, structural, and operational collaboration between the Education and Social Services departments in Eda Municipality. The School Social Worker is responsible for establishing, organizing, and conducting preventive work through a school social team. The assignment includes overall responsibility for coordinating a cross-professional approach that offers early interventions, good learning environments, and a high degree of individual adaptation in close collaboration between the school, social services, guardians, and healthcare. In the assignment, you work from a holistic perspective based on the Social Services Act and the Education Act.
You will be one of two school social workers employed by the municipality, where you are employed by the Individual and Family Care (IFO) and report directly to the Business Manager. The other school social worker is employed by the Education Department. Together with the other school social worker, you are responsible for the daily work by coordinating interventions within and between the school and social services based on the specific needs of children and students.
In the role of School Social Worker, you are responsible for:
- Driving and developing a cross-professional school social team in the municipality.
- Informing about offers for early and preventive interventions individually or in groups.
- Participating in security and student health teams and coordination meetings as needed.
- Mapping work based on school social well-being, family systems, and the school's work on attendance.
- Contact and outreach activities based on established steering and conduct documents.
- Working relationally with students, parents, teachers, and other collaboration partners.
- Participating in school, parent, and information meetings with guardians.
- Serving a consultative function regarding collaboration between the school and social services.
- Motivational, guiding, and supportive conversations with students and their guardians.
- Initiating collaboration and leading network meetings and staff meetings, as well as participating in SIP meetings.
- Contributing to quality work with follow-up, evaluation, and development of the team's work.
- Support in investigating and gaining in-depth knowledge about the cause of student absenteeism.
- Designing adapted support for students in collaboration with family support workers, school counselors, student health teams, and other actors.
- Participating in and leading projects related to collaboration between schools, social services, and other actors.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a social work degree, current and several years of experience from social services areas of social work with children, young people, and families. You have experience in motivational, advisory, and supportive work with children and young people and their guardians. It is meritorious if you have experience in school social work from social services reception, investigation, open care, or other corresponding operations with the target group of children and young people. You have knowledge and experience of the school's mission to both prevent and remedy problematic school absenteeism, and carrying out attendance-promoting measures is seen as positive by the employer. It is meritorious if you have good knowledge of various neuropsychiatric disabilities. Experience of working in cross-professional teams, business development, and collaboration with other authorities and the region is meritorious.

You have very good cooperation skills and are relationship-building as the position involves contacts with student health and security teams, students, and guardians. You have problem-solving analytical skills and are confident in yourself and your professional role with the ability to make careful assessments and prioritizations. Through your engagement and sensitivity, you create trust and build relationships with different parties. As a school social worker, it is of great importance that you can work proactively, structured, independently, and flexibly with different change processes. Your ability to independently drive processes is highly valued. To fit this position, you need to appreciate working in a team with a good ability to create successful collaborations with different professions and target groups with experience in social change work. You see the big picture and always make decisions based on the best interests of the operations and the target group. You have good ability to formulate yourself in speech and writing, and good computer skills are a basic requirement. In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
