Are you a teacher with a heart for children, young people, and church life? Vikenkyrkan is now seeking a Parish Pedagogue for a 5-month interim position. Here you have the opportunity to make a difference by creating safe spaces where children and young people can grow in faith and community.

Description

As a Parish Pedagogue at Vikenkyrkan, you are an important part of the parish's work with children, youth, and their families. Vikenkyrkan is your primary workplace, but the work may also be located at the Cathedral or other locations within the Karlstad parish.

Responsibilities

In your role, you are expected to plan and lead:

• Children's groups, camps, excursions, and gatherings
• Devotions and services for and with children and young people
• Pedagogical responsibility for Lillkyrkan (The Little Church)

You will work both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues at Vikenkyrkan and other staff in the parish. Since Vikenkyrkan is located in Karlstad's most dynamic area, you should be creative and forward-thinking to reach our new members.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has education as a Parish Pedagogue or equivalent pedagogical training
• Is passionate about meeting children and young people in their daily lives and faith development
• Is confident in your role as a leader and role model
• Has good collaboration skills, is receptive, and pedagogical
• Shares the Church of Sweden's faith and values and is a member

You should have good communication skills in both speech and writing and feel comfortable with digital tools.

Practical Information

The interim position is 75% over 5 months with the possibility of extension. The work is scheduled and includes evenings and weekends.
