School Counselor in Kristinehamn
Do you want a job where you can make a real difference? We are now looking for a school counselor for the central school area, which consists of Södermalmsskolan (Grades F-9) and Björneborgs skola (Grades F-6).
As a school counselor, you will be part of the Student Health and Welfare Team (Elevhälsan), which consists of approximately 8 people: counselors, psychologists, special educators, special teachers, school nurses, and study and career counselors.
The School Administration's area of responsibility covers activities for children from one year of age through upper secondary education. The operations include the school staff, preschool, compulsory school including adapted compulsory school, upper secondary school including adapted upper secondary school, and cultural school.

Job Responsibilities
As a school counselor, you are responsible for the psychosocial perspective within the Student Health and Welfare Team. You participate in and lead various types of health-promoting and preventive work, both independently and together with other team members. This includes leading interventions in classrooms regarding topics such as "Stop My Body" (body safety) and internet safety.
The work as a school counselor involves working at the organizational, group, and individual levels. You will be part of the Student Health and Welfare Team for the intermediate grades at Södermalmsskolan as well as at Björneborgs skola.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker or are currently studying to become one. We would appreciate it if you have a few years of experience working with children and young people. Previous experience within social services or with any form of parental support is highly meritorious.
We want you to have a health-promoting and preventive focus with a clear child's perspective. You are good at collaborating with others, both internally at the school and with relevant authorities. You are flexible, self-initiating, and engaged in your work, and you have a well-founded empathetic ability. You are good at building relationships and have a good ability to build trust with both children and guardians.
A valid Class B driver's license is required.
