Description
At our Family Home Unit, you will find a thrilling, important, and developmental job. We are looking for you who are committed to children and young people living in foster homes. Children placed in foster homes are one of society's most vulnerable groups. These children need extensive support to develop positively. Therefore, high quality in foster care is very important to us, which places demands on efficient case processing.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is to act as an authority-handling social secretary for children and young people placed in foster homes. You will collaborate closely with foster home case workers, who have the overall responsibility for the foster homes where the children are placed. The goal is for you, as a social secretary, to maintain a holistic perspective based on the child's needs. You will have close contact with the child in the foster home, as well as with biological parents, schools, healthcare, foster homes, and others.
As an employee at the Family Department, you are offered a comprehensive induction program for new employees, which includes basic training in Signs of Safety. New social workers are also offered "Yrkesresan" (The Professional Journey).
When you join us, you will receive a mentor and an introduction so that you can gradually get into the work. In addition to a unit manager, there are two case supervisors at the unit who guide and supervise you in your daily work. Furthermore, you will get to know a wonderful group of colleagues to work with. We have excellent, functional premises in central Karlstad, which makes us enjoy working here.

Qualifications
A degree in Social Work (Social Worker) is required. Experience working within social services, with authority handling and foster care is advantageous. We value good collaboration skills, decision-making and action-oriented abilities, creative thinking, and the ability to work independently when needed. We also appreciate that you are structured, coordinate your work well, and express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing.
A category B driver's license is required. We will also request a police record extract.
