Description

We are looking for two support pedagogues (special needs educators) for our daily activities. Currently, the placement is either at "Macken" or in one of our business groups. At Macken, 35 care recipients have their daily activities and perform tasks such as car washing, various types of transport, sorting, and packaging, among others. Here, in addition to the support pedagogue, six support assistants work.

Our business groups consist of nine units where care recipients have their activities at external companies, mostly within service and/or outdoor activities. In each business group, 1–2 support assistants work to support the care recipients in their activities. As a support pedagogue, you are a resource for all business groups but will have your main placement in one of them.

The support pedagogue should be a support in quality work and have a holistic view of the care recipient. The goal is to create good living conditions for the care recipient through participation and independence.

Responsibilities

In the role of support pedagogue, you will work to support your colleagues in various communication methods and clear communication pedagogy based on the care recipient's individual needs. You will work with implementation plans and social documentation based on current legislation as well as guidelines and instructions in our management system. Your work includes introducing new staff together with your colleagues, mentoring, and being a good role model in pedagogical work. As a support pedagogue, you teach and implement new pedagogical methods in the work group. You should be driving the pedagogical work at the workplace and support colleagues in social documentation and ensure that implementation plans are put in place.

As a support pedagogue, you contribute to giving the care recipient the opportunity to live as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

The support pedagogue is also part of the daily work regarding the care recipient. This means participating in various activities with the care recipients as well as providing care measures.

In Karlstad Municipality, there is a network for support pedagogues, supervisors, and development managers who meet to exchange experiences and learn from each other.

Qualifications

For the role of support pedagogue, we are looking for you who have:

• Education as a support pedagogue (200 YH).
• Work experience from work within LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) activities.
• Good computer skills and experience with documentation.
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good physical fitness, as care recipients have different needs for support and help in their daily lives.
• Good ability to plan and structure.
• A driver's license is required.
