Description

The Employment and Social Services Administration is seeking a social worker with good experience and extensive knowledge of social services work, including both authority exercises and psychosocial treatment work.

Job Responsibilities

A functioning school attendance, where students learn, develop, and feel well, is an important protective factor against exclusion, crime, substance abuse, and ill health. It increases the chances of participation in working and community life, good health, and well-being throughout life. School social teams are a way for schools and social services to work together to strengthen the conditions for students to achieve educational goals, increase student attendance, and provide support to break negative development patterns. A school social worker identifies and addresses the causes of school absenteeism. You will act as a link between the school and social services, and design individual interventions for students with problematic absenteeism.

The school social team works to build trust. You will work together with the youth support staff at Sundsta Älvkullegymnasiet, as well as other resources within both the school and social services, focusing on supporting young people with problematic school situations and absenteeism. This may include support interventions for guardians, facilitating communication and cooperation between guardians and other actors involved with the individual. You will also carry out psychosocial treatment work at Nexus, which is the Employment and Social Services Administration's treatment unit for young people and young adults with harmful use and addiction.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Work with several years of experience in social services.
• Experience in treatment work with children and adolescents is an advantage.
• Since the role in the startup phase involves helping to build the operation from the ground up, it is an advantage if you have documented experience in driving work independently and taking responsibility in development or construction processes, preferably from a holistic perspective.

You have an easy time building trusting relationships and communicating clearly with young people, guardians, and professional actors. At the same time, you are stable, structured, proactive, and flexible, with the ability to prioritize in a daily routine with varying tasks. The work requires a high degree of independence, teamwork skills, and personal maturity. You enjoy working with complex issues, see opportunities, and are creative. You keep your cool in difficult situations and can handle anxiety and stress among students, guardians, and staff.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment and Location

Permanent employment subject to necessary decisions being made. You will be employed at the Unit for Young Adults, Intervention, and will be part of the Nexus staff group where you participate in operational meetings and supervision. The work will be based at Sundsta Älvkullegymnasiet (SÄG) and partly at Nexus. You will be part of a network of school social workers who meet regularly.
