Job Description & Offer
Do you want to work with one of sports' most important issues? Are you passionate about the safety, well-being, and right to a healthy sports environment for children and young people? Then the role of Acting Child and Youth Coordinator at the Swedish Cheerleading Federation might be the right fit for you.
The Swedish Cheerleading Federation is now seeking an engaged and reliable development coordinator who wants to drive and develop the federation's work within child and youth sports, with a special focus on safety, welfare, and sustainable leadership.
In this role, you will work both strategically and operationally with issues concerning the sports environment for children and young people. You will be a key function in developing tools, support materials, and working methods for clubs and consultants, while also handling incoming cases related to safety issues and support processes.
The work involves close collaboration with colleagues within the federation as well as external parties such as RF-SISU. You will become part of the development department and report to your direct manager, Karolina Olovsson.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Drive and develop the federation's work within safe child and youth sports.
- Develop support materials, tools, and processes for clubs and consultants.
- Handle and support incoming safety cases.
- Participate in networks and knowledge exchanges together with RF and other federations.
- Work both proactively and reactively on issues concerning the well-being of children and young people within sports.
- Contribute to developing long-term strategies for a safe and inclusive sports environment.
Person Profile
We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and has a strong moral compass. You are responsible, empathetic, and have the ability to stand firm even in complex and sensitive situations.
To thrive in this role, we believe you:
- Are analytical and structured.
- Easily prioritize and handle changing situations.
- Are self-reliant and drive your work forward.
- Have a genuine commitment to the best interests of children and young people.
- Have the courage to drive change issues even when they are challenging.
We would appreciate it if you had experience from sports, association, or youth activities and are accustomed to meeting people in various types of situations. Experience working with children and young people is considered a strong merit.
Furthermore, we would appreciate it if you:
- Have relevant post-secondary education, for example in pedagogy, social sciences, or social work.
- Are comfortable reading, analyzing, and compiling material.
- Have very good communication skills in Swedish, both verbal and written.
A cheerleading background is not a requirement; we welcome different experiences and perspectives.
Other Information
- Start: September
- Scope: Full-time, fixed-term contract for 2 years
- Working hours: Unregulated working hours with some evening and weekend activities
- Application deadline: June 10
- Location: Placement is preferably in Malmö, Gothenburg, or Köping, but Stockholm may also be relevant depending on the candidate.
