The school runs Ösby Farm, which encompasses the operations and resources needed for the practical part of the education. Ösby Farm comprises approx. 290 hectares of arable land with varied crop cultivation as well as animal husbandry. The animal husbandry consists of a milk production with approx. 120 cows, as well as teaching stables with horses, sows/piglets, various types of pets, and zoo animals. There is also a large farm workshop here. The school works with and manages parts of Sala Municipality's forest, covering approx. 4000 hectares.

Responsibilities

You will be the responsible teacher for education in agricultural machinery and new technology within the sector. Driving and safety, as well as repair and maintenance. It is desirable that you have knowledge within crop cultivation as part of the lessons take place in the field. Experience with forklift and loader operation is a plus. The education covers both theory and practice.

In addition to teaching, normal teacher duties are included such as mentorship, class conferences, participation in school development, parent contacts, etc. You will work in a team together with teachers and instructors with the development and implementation of the agriculture specialization.

Qualifications

Suitable background is a farm manager (machine technology/crop cultivation), agrotechnician, or other equivalent education. You should have practical experience working with modern technology within crop cultivation as well as knowledge in repair and service of modern machinery oriented towards agriculture. It is good if you also have experience within animal production.

It is desirable that you have pedagogical education or can consider completing it in the near future.

You should have a genuine interest in learning and pedagogy and feel a great commitment to young people's development and learning. Personal suitability is important to us.

Terms of Employment

Permanent position, 100%. Commencement according to agreement. Probationary period may apply. Individual salary setting.

Requirement of police certificate upon offer of employment. This according to the law on register control within school, leisure, and preschool activities. The Swedish Police Authority's criminal record, RPS 442.5 (14-01-14).
