Violin Pedagogue for Älmhult Culture School

Älmhult Culture School is looking for an engaged and inspiring violin pedagogue who wants to help develop the culture school of the future together with us.

Älmhult Culture School offers education in music, dance, theater, visual arts, and creative activities for children and young people in the municipality. We work to create an inclusive and creative meeting place where students have the opportunity to develop both individually and together with others. The culture school is in an exciting phase of development where we also want to strengthen ensemble activities and cross-generational cultural expression.

Job Responsibilities

As a string teacher with us, you will teach students of various ages in violin, cello, and double bass, both individually and in groups, and help lead and develop our ensemble and orchestra activities. You see ensemble playing as a natural tool in learning and work to strengthen students' interaction, musicality, and participation.

You participate in concerts, performances, and various projects together with students and colleagues, becoming an important part of the culture school's continued development and work.

With us, you meet children and young people in their musical development. You teach students individually and in groups, with teaching adapted to age, level, and individual prerequisites.

The work is characterized by significant personal responsibility and good opportunities to independently plan and develop teaching based on the students' needs and your own ideas and strengths. We value initiative, creativity, and engagement, and offer a work environment where you have the freedom to develop both your operations and yourself based on your thoughts and ideas.

The position also includes responsibility for the rental, handling, and maintenance of the culture school's string instruments.

Teaching within our core operations is primarily scheduled for early afternoon and evening. Teaching may also take place to some extent at one of the schools in the municipality.

Teaching can be conducted in both Swedish and English.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have pedagogical education or other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good experience in string instruction for children and young people. You enjoy working with people of different ages and have good experience in group teaching and ensemble playing. As a person, you are flexible and quality-conscious and find it easy to collaborate with others. You want to contribute to creating joy, security, and engagement among students and help build a positive and developing work climate together with your colleagues.

You have the ability to create and maintain good communication and collaboration with students and guardians, as well as to provide feedback on student development in a clear and professional manner.

You collaborate well with colleagues within the culture school and participate in joint planning, projects, and concerts. You are expected to be engaged in the development of the operations, both pedagogically and artistically, and contribute to a safe, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment. You do not mind teaching part of the time in English.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is a requirement for the position.

Employment Terms

  • Working Hours: Most of the teaching in this position takes place after school hours and in the evenings. The position is for up to 80%.
  • Employment Type: Permanent employment.
  • Duration: Permanent.
