Köping Culture School is looking for a Piano Teacher

Köping Culture School offers children and young people, from the age of 5 up to and including upper secondary school, the opportunity to explore and develop their own expression in music, dance, theatre, film, and visual arts. RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a piano teacher/culture school educator for a temporary position during a colleague's parental leave. The temporary position is planned to last during the academic year 2026/2027, but may end earlier if the permanent employee returns to work.

Piano teaching constitutes approximately 25% of the position and is an important part of the assignment. At the same time, there is an opportunity to shape the rest of the position based on your skills, interests, and the needs of the operation. The scope of the position can therefore vary between approximately 25% and 50%.

We are particularly interested in you who, in addition to piano, have broad artistic competence and are curious to contribute to several parts of the Culture School's activities.

Both individual and group teaching may occur. Piano teaching is primarily individual.

You will become part of an activity that wants to broaden its offerings, reach more students, and develop working methods that lower the barriers to creation, for example through group teaching, outreach activities, and cross-disciplinary approaches.

You will:

• Teach piano
• Possibly teach in additional areas based on your competence
• Participate in concerts, performances, and other outward-facing activities
• Contribute to student recruitment and development work
• Collaborate with colleagues in various projects and teaching forms

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• Have pedagogical education in music or equivalent competence
• Have good knowledge of piano
• Preferably have broad competence in several artistic areas
• Thrive in a flexible, developing activity
• Have good collaboration skills and a student-focused approach

It is meritorious if you:

• Have experience from a culture school or similar activity
• Have worked with both younger children and teenagers
• Have experience with outward-facing activities and student recruitment

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
