The Culture School in Fagersta is part of the Welfare and Service Administration in Fagersta Municipality. We offer a creative and inclusive environment where children and young people aged 5–25 have the opportunity to develop their interests in music, dance, visual arts, and crafts. Our operations consist of 9 dedicated culture school teachers, and we annually host appreciated events such as Culture School Day and the Christmas Concert.

Your role

You will teach dance groups for children and young people aged 5–19. The groups are divided by age, and the teaching is adapted to the students' experience and development. Teaching takes place primarily in the afternoons and evenings at Fagerstahallen, in the Culture School's dance studio, but also in various gymnasiums. It may also involve teaching high school students in their elective course (Dance Gestaltning/Dance Expression) and dance and movement education in Special Needs Primary School.

You plan and lead lessons based on the group's needs and work with the students' development both in teaching and in preparation for stage performances, including our larger events during Christmas and National Day celebrations.

Currently, we have a total of approximately 110 dance students in 12 dance groups.

The Dance Pedagogue teaches children's dance, children's ballet, beginner ballet, and dance mix. The role also includes teaching high school students in the elective course Dance Gestaltning 1, as well as dance and movement for students in Special Needs Primary School.

The position is a temporary assignment (80%) during the school year 2026/2027. This is a holiday service position. Teaching may also take place on weekends.

Your qualifications and merits

Requirements include education in dance. You must have documented competence to teach the subject of dance.

A valid Category B driver's license and access to a car are required, as teaching also takes place at various schools.

A clean certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (police record extract) is a requirement.

Merits include previous experience working as a culture school pedagogue/teacher in dance.
