After the summer, we open the doors to our new plumbing and insulation technician training in Växjö, commissioned by the Swedish Public Employment Service.

About the Role

As a teacher in the project, you will work with both practical and theoretical teaching within plumbing and insulation. With a clear connection to how the profession is practiced in the insulation and installation industry. The education is aimed at adult participants within labor market training and has a clear goal: that the participants will become employable plumbing and insulation technicians.

This means that you:

• lead the teaching based on the Astar Model, where clear structure, step-by-step progression, and controlled understanding create security, quality, and professional development for the participants.
• plan and conduct teacher-led teaching that gives the participants the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes required for work as a plumbing and insulation technician.
• alternate practical moments – such as insulation of pipes, ducts, and installations, material and method knowledge, tool and machine usage, occupational health and safety – with theoretical walkthroughs within examples such as occupational theory, drawing comprehension, material science, occupational health regulations, and industry requirements.
• work closely with the industry to ensure that the content and level of the education correspond to current competency requirements within the insulation field.

The assignment also includes actively sourcing, matching, and following up on workplace training (APL) placements together with the APL coordinator. Therefore, we are looking for you who have good knowledge of, and preferably a network within, the insulation and plumbing industry. You collaborate early with working life and support the participants in their path to work, further establishment, and a clear professional identity as a plumbing and insulation technician.

We are looking for you who have:

• at least 3 years of relevant industry experience within plumbing/insulation and industry certificates

Or

• experience as a teacher in the area previously.

Meritorious:

• that you have already been part of a Plumbing College context (e.g., as a teacher in Plumbing College education).

2-3 positions 100% or part-time, with start in the autumn.
