Who will you work with?
A wonderful 7-year-old boy is looking for more assistants to join his lovely team, starting as soon as possible. He lives in a villa in a newly built residential area in Alingsås together with his family, consisting of parents and two younger siblings.
The boy has a neurological condition that requires him to have personal assistance around the clock. He thrives on closeness and hearing sounds around him. He is a calm person and enjoys being in the midst of the noise and activity of loved ones. He enjoys listening to read-aloud sessions when his assistants read to him, as well as listening to audiobooks and music. The boy enjoys company, and his younger siblings love to play and frolic in his room – where he and his assistant often spend time.
The boy needs someone to help him with all aspects of daily life, and you will be his support through everything. He has no verbal language, limited vision, and uses a wheelchair to explore the world.
As a personal assistant, you will become a significant part of his and his family's daily life. You will be a secure point and advocate for his well-being in all situations. The boy has double assistance around the clock.
Scope of the position
We are looking for assistants who can work during the summer, preferably with the possibility to step in as an hourly substitute before the summer. There are both night and day shifts, weekdays, and weekends.
Who are you?
It is important that you are a responsible and secure person. We want you to be engaged, positive, and creative. You should have a calm and present attitude, be empathetic, and able to act quickly in emergency situations. In this job, you must be attentive and independent to take initiative. You should feel comfortable being part of a family with children – where your role as a personal assistant plays a significant part in enabling the boy to participate in everyday life with his family.
Experience working with children in some capacity is desirable. It is welcome – but not a requirement – if you have experience with epilepsy, tube feeding, and/or handling medical technical aids such as a suction device.
To thrive in this job, you should:
- Enjoy working independently as well as in a team
- Be able to act quickly regarding decisions about medication, breathing, or similar
- Be comfortable working with breathing monitoring, as well as using a ventilator, suction device, and other medical technical aids
Getting to work: Approximately 10 minutes by bike from central Alingsås. Limited public transport options. Driver's license and car are a plus.
We warmly welcome your application now – selection is ongoing!
We also require you to provide an extract from the police record. Apply for this now via the link below: https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/barn-med-funktionsnedsattning/ (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/barn-med-funktionsnedsattning/)
