You will work with me, a 7-year-old girl who loves music, dance, movies, play, running around in my walker, and walking in nature with my wheelchair. I always need an adult close by who can interpret, support, listen, and initiate, as well as supervise to ensure my safety. During the day, I attend school together with my assistant.

I am infection-sensitive, so during certain periods, we may need to stay at home instead of going to school. I need help with toilet visits, showering, dressing and undressing, transfers, tube feeding, inhalations, and medication intake, as well as initiating play and interaction.

My care needs likely involve heavy lifting for you, so you must be physically fit. I also have significant mucus issues, which requires you to be vigilant and calm in managing stressful situations that may arise. I have my own communication style. You need to be creative, attentive, and observant of both my small signals and my body language.

It is important that you speak Swedish, as I, in addition to being non-verbal, have a severe intellectual disability as well as impaired vision and hearing. I would appreciate it if you can use alternative communication methods such as sign language or picture support (TAKK).

It is important to me that my assistants are cheerful, imaginative, and take their own initiatives so that I can have a fun and meaningful daily life with people I can rely on.

Who are you?

We are looking for a conscientious and reliable person who is dedicated to creating conditions for a meaningful daily life for a child with significant challenges. If you are also inventive and have an interest and curiosity in finding ways to communicate with non-speaking individuals, you likely fit the profile we are seeking.

The client is infection-sensitive. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is responsible and understands the caution required to be a reliable personal assistant. For example, if someone in your family is ill, you should inform the operations manager, relatives, and other personal assistants about the situation and wait a day before working a shift. You should avoid large gatherings, such as play centers in malls or taking the bus unless necessary, due to the higher risk of infection in these places.

It is important that you are attentive to follow, perceive, and interpret the child's needs and signals. Previous experience with children with multiple disabilities and nursing work is an asset. Particularly valuable is knowledge and experience in tube feeding, administering medication and inhalations, and mucus mobilization.

You already have, or are curious to learn more about, alternative communication methods such as sign language and picture support.

It is important to me that you have good collaboration skills and are clear in your communication so that you can convey my day and my needs to the next person, ensuring the team works together effectively.

We prefer female applicants.

You will work closely with the child's parent but largely independently when the parent is working, which places high demands on your independence.
