The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug abuse. We receive men with mental health issues and men with acting-out behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to help make a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our clients, and you handle the basics of daily life such as cleaning, cooking, etc. You help maintain order and security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to our clients receiving the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a night and weekend schedule.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and a guided introduction, and it equips you for the therapist role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- A minimum 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Category B driver's license
- Good Swedish language skills (spoken and written)

Employment:
The position is a fixed-term employment from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027.
