Familjen är allt AB is looking for dedicated foster homes and emergency foster homes (jourhem) across Sweden. We are seeking stable adults and families who wish to open their homes and hearts to children and young people in need of care, stability, and a secure daily life.

What does the role involve?

Being a foster home or emergency foster home is a meaningful and important assignment. Children and young people may, for various reasons, be unable to live with their guardians and therefore require a safe and stable living environment.

Foster Homes

As a foster home, you welcome a child or young person for an extended period. You become an integral part of the child's daily life, responsible for providing care, security, structure, and support for their development. The role involves integrating the child into the family's daily routine, including school, leisure activities, and social interaction.

Emergency Foster Homes (Jourhem)

As an emergency foster home, you receive children and young people with short notice when an urgent situation arises. The placement duration can vary from a few days to several months, depending on the child's situation and the social services' planning.

Who can become a foster home or emergency foster home?

We are looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds and life situations. You can be single, cohabiting, married, with or without your own children. The most important qualities are:

• A stable and secure personal life.
• Time, patience, and commitment.
• The ability to provide care and create a sense of security.
• An extra room in your home.
• A willingness to collaborate with social services and our support team.

No specific prior education is required. We provide the training and support you need to feel confident in your role.

Remuneration and Expense Allowance

The role of a foster home or emergency foster home is not an employment contract, but a commission on behalf of the social services.

You will receive:

• Remuneration as compensation for the work and responsibility involved in the assignment.
• Expense allowance to cover the child's or young person's ongoing costs, such as food, clothing, leisure activities, travel, and other expenses.

The amount of compensation varies depending on the scope of the assignment, the child's needs, and the nature of the placement.
