Job Responsibilities
Do you want to work in a operation where you can truly influence children's futures and contribute to security, stability, and development? As a Child Secretary at the Foster Care Unit, you will become an important part of a meaningful and socially significant assignment. You are responsible for following up on the child's situation and ensuring that their basic needs for security, care, and stability are met. Your work includes among other things:
- Being the responsible caregiver for children placed in foster homes according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).
- Maintaining regular contact with the child, birth parents, the foster home, school, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), healthcare, and other relevant actors.
- Conducting individual conversations with the child and safeguarding the child's rights and voice in all decisions.
- Making regular home visits and follow-ups in the foster home.
- Conducting investigations, assessments, and working with legal processes.
- Making decisions and driving a legally secure work based on current legislation.
- Working closely together with Foster Care Secretaries who recruit and supervise foster homes.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are secure, empathetic, and driven, and who have a strong desire to work for the best interests of children. You have a good ability to handle stress and maintain calm in complex situations. You are secure and strong in yourself and can handle stress in a healthy way. Your ability to build trusting relationships is of the utmost importance. Therefore, we see that you are skilled at communicating and creating secure contact with both children and adults.
You thrive in independent work where you drive and develop your work on your own in a legally secure manner. We also see that you have a good ability to prioritize and organize your work. At the same time, collaboration is an important part of your work, with both internal and external actors. Working with others towards a common goal should therefore come naturally to you.
Requirements:
- Social work degree (Social Worker) or other education that can be assessed as equivalent.
- Experience in authority decision-making regarding children and young people.
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Category B driver's license.
Merits:
Beyond these requirements, we consider it highly meritorious if you have previous experience working within foster care operations. It is also meritorious if you have relevant system familiarity, especially with the systems LifeCare and Ommej.
