Recruitment of Teachers for Grades 7-9 in Västerås

Västerås Municipality has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to create a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will become an important part of our selection work.

Your Responsibilities

Your main assignment will be to work with planning, teaching, mentoring, and value-based work according to the curriculum (LGR22). However, being a teacher today means so much more. Working as a teacher involves constantly developing new working methods based on the students you meet. It is about capturing students' interests and creating fun and challenging teaching from that. It also involves documenting students' learning to enable them to reach their goals. In addition to pedagogy, you will also work with student health to ensure that students feel well and safe at school.

Your Competence

You are a licensed teacher for primary school grades 7-9. You are confident in your pedagogical leadership and actively use digital tools in the classroom. As a person, you create trust, serve as a role model, and build relationships with students and their guardians. For you, collaboration is a matter of course, both in planning and when it comes to sharing knowledge and experiences.

Recruitment Process

We have a central and common recruitment process for teachers in primary school. This means that we interview and fill our positions continuously based on the schools' needs. We update the advertisement continuously with vacant positions. You will of course have the opportunity to request specific schools when you submit your application. If you proceed after a possible interview, you will have the opportunity to visit selected schools based on current needs.

If you are not an educated teacher, your application can be forwarded to principals who have vacant temporary positions.

If you currently work as a teacher at our schools but are interested in changing units, you need to apply here. However, you will not need to go through all parts of the recruitment process.

Additional Information

Before you can be employed, you must show a cleared extract from the police criminal record register.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of citizenship together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after a check of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Act.
