Sandviken municipality's preschools and schools are governed by both national and municipal goals. Each unit follows up and evaluates its activities, conducts a result analysis, and formulates development measures. It is of utmost importance that everyone in the organization sees and takes responsibility for the common mission to achieve a quality education system, where children and students, regardless of background, can develop as far as possible. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a substitute teacher, you are an important part of the daily work in our preschools and schools. You replace regular staff during short-term absences, often at short notice. The role involves being active in learning and social development and participating in outdoor activities, regardless of the weather.

In preschool (children aged 1-5 years), you contribute by:

• Supporting children in play, gatherings, and planned activities
• Assisting during meals, diaper changes, and toilet visits

In school (preschool class to grade 9), you contribute by:

• Leading lessons and following planning
• Supporting in after-school care for younger ages

• Collaborating and utilizing each other's competencies
• Creating an inclusive and safe environment
• Being flexible and solution-focused

QUALIFICATIONS

The work as a substitute teacher requires quickly adapting to new environments and creating safety for children and students. It requires good collaboration skills, flexibility, and the ability to take responsibility. Being able to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and be attentive in interactions with children, students, and colleagues is central. To thrive in the role, you need to be present, have a respectful attitude, and contribute to a positive learning environment where both teaching and social development are in focus.

The following is required for the position:

• High school diploma with passing grades in Swedish, English, and Mathematics or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Availability for work throughout the municipality

We would like you to have experience in leading children or youth, for example through internships, community activities, or previous work. Educational training and teaching or preschool teacher certification are also meritorious. A driver's license and access to a car facilitate the work.

What happens after you apply?

After the application deadline, we will make a selection. If you are selected to proceed in the recruitment process, you will be invited to an information and interview session where you need to bring:

• Extract from the criminal record
• Valid ID (Swedish passport, national ID, or personal certificate)
• High school diploma or other relevant certificates

During the meeting, you will receive information about the work and what it means to be a substitute teacher, as well as participate in a short interview. After that, we may contact references.

• Tuesday, March 24, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
