Gävle municipality has seven preschool areas: Bomhus, Brynäs-Nynäs, Nordöstra, Sätra, Södra, Sörby, and Valbo. Within these areas, there are approximately 70 preschools, including four preschool departments with a special focus for children who have extensive needs for special support. We also have 8 family daycares.

We are now looking for several licensed preschool teachers for our preschool operations. We will continuously need to fill upcoming positions, and the placement will be in one of our preschool areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a pedagogical preschool teacher who wants to contribute to children's learning and development? We are looking for you who are an engaged, positive, and driven preschool teacher who is passionate about your mission and the pedagogical development work.

Your responsibilities include:

• that you, together with your team, have primary responsibility for the pedagogical teaching at the preschool
• that you plan, implement, document, follow up, and evaluate the operations according to set goals and guidelines
• to use the learning platform Unikum in the systematic quality work

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a pedagogical and secure preschool teacher with a focus on the child.

We are looking for you who:

• have a degree from the preschool teacher program and preschool teacher certification with the authority to teach in preschool and preschool class. You may also have an ongoing education in the preschool teacher program with graduation in June 2026
• are familiar with and knowledgeable about the preschool curriculum
• have a good ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• have experience with children in need of special support
• have experience with AAC and/or experience with sign language
• have experience working in a multicultural preschool

• you have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized, are efficient, and use resources to achieve results in the best way
• you inspire trust and create confidence as well as have the ability to spread calm and stability
• you have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with colleagues, children, and guardians
• you have the ability to lead and motivate children and colleagues. You make them feel belonging and included. You are good at creating an open dialogue and adapting your language based on the current situation

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement that you present a certificate from the criminal record for work in schools or preschools.
