Västanbyn School is a primary school for grades F-3 with about 170 students located on the northern outskirts of Sandviken, near the natural area of Högbo bruk. The school is characterized by strong safety work and knowledgeable and engaged staff.

We are now looking for qualified teachers in:

  • Grades 1-3 (a total of 3 positions, one of which is temporary during the school year 26/27)
  • Recreation teacher/substitute (temporary employment during the school year 26/27)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to the school's governing documents. The assignment involves creating an accessible learning environment where students' curiosity and desire to learn are nurtured. In this collective advertisement, we are looking for several roles, and here follows a brief description of what the positions entail.

As a teacher in grades 1-3, you work to lay the foundation for students' knowledge development, curiosity, and social security. You teach several subjects and differentiate instruction so that all students receive support and challenges at their level. Mentorship is included in the position.

In the role of recreation teacher/substitute, work at the recreation center is combined with assignments as a substitute teacher in the school. You replace regular teachers in case of absence, which means that tasks may vary from day to day within the school's various activities. Afternoons are allocated to the recreation center.

You contribute by:

  • Stimulating students' development and learning based on their individual needs
  • Creating good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues
  • Being a clear and safe role model for students
  • Actively working for an inclusive and safe school environment
  • Collaborating in the work team to develop teaching

  • Supporting each other in daily work
  • Having an open and solution-focused approach
  • Working with the student at the center

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role, you need to have good pedagogical insight and understand how students absorb knowledge in different ways. You easily create trusting relationships and contribute to a safe and accessible learning environment. Sensitivity and collaboration skills are important qualities in the collegial work, where teaching is developed together. A structured approach facilitates planning and follow-up, while flexibility allows you to handle changing needs and see opportunities in new situations. An inclusive approach permeates your work and creates good conditions for all students.

The following is required for the assignment:

  • Teaching certification with relevant qualifications
  • Good knowledge of the governing documents of primary school
  • Good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

Good IT skills and experience using digital tools are meritorious.
