In Sandviken's municipal primary schools, we work in a culture where collaboration and systematic quality work go hand in hand. Årsunda School is located about 15 km south of Sandviken, beautifully situated by Storsjö and the proximity to nature is utilized in teaching. The school is a K-6 school with about 125 students and has been newly renovated both inside and out.

We are now looking for qualified teachers in:

  • Textile Crafts
  • Class Teacher grades 4-6
  • Substitute Teacher

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching according to the school's governing documents. The assignment involves creating an accessible learning environment where students' curiosity and desire to learn are nurtured. In this collective advertisement, we are looking for several roles, and here follows a brief description of what each position entails.

As a class teacher in grades 4-6, you plan and implement teaching in several subjects and differentiate the instruction so that all students receive support and challenge at their level. The position includes mentorship for one of the classes.

In the role of textile crafts teacher, you lead creative and practical work processes where students explore materials, techniques, and design. You guide and support students throughout the entire creative process and are responsible for a safe and secure working environment. The position also includes teaching textile crafts at Österfärnebo School.

As a substitute teacher, you combine work in the after-school program with assignments as a substitute in the school. You replace regular teachers in case of absence, which means that the tasks may vary from day to day within the school's various activities. Afternoons are allocated to the after-school program. The employment is temporary during the school year 26/27.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role, you need to have good pedagogical insight and understand how students absorb knowledge in different ways. You find it easy to create trusting relationships and contribute to a safe and accessible learning environment. Sensitivity and the ability to collaborate are important qualities in the collegial work, where teaching is developed together. A structured approach facilitates planning and follow-up, while flexibility allows you to handle changing needs and see opportunities in new situations. An inclusive approach permeates your work and creates good conditions for all students.

For the assignment, the following is required:

  • Teaching certification with relevant qualifications
  • Good knowledge of the governing documents of primary education
  • Good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

Good IT skills and experience using digital tools are advantageous.
