JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for teaching mother tongue to students with these language backgrounds. The work takes place in several schools and includes planning, implementation, and follow-up of teaching. You create clear and safe learning situations and adapt the teaching according to the students' levels and needs. The role involves collaboration with other mother tongue teachers, school staff, and guardians. We are now looking for mother tongue teachers in the following languages:

• Polish/Russian and Ukrainian (70%)
• German (30%)
• Tigrinya (100%)
• Somali (60%)
• Bosnian (20%)

The extent of the positions may change based on the number of teaching groups at the start of the school year.

You contribute by:

• Planning and implementing teaching based on governing documents
• Adapting teaching to students' needs
• Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborating with students, guardians, and school staff
• Using digital tools in teaching

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in this role, it is important to have an interest in languages and to enjoy working with students from different backgrounds. Warm and attentive communication makes it easy to build trust and provide a safe teaching environment. A structured approach helps you in planning, while flexibility allows you to easily adapt to different situations in school life. Curiosity, collaboration, and an inclusive perspective contribute to ensuring that students have good opportunities to develop and that we make each other better.

For the assignment, the following is required:

• Teaching certification with authorization in mother tongue
• Very good knowledge of the mother tongue
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

We would like you to have experience in mother tongue teaching, as well as good IT skills and familiarity with using digital tools, which are also meritorious. A driver's license and access to a car facilitate the work.
