The preschools and schools in Sandviken municipality are governed by both national and municipal goals. Each unit follows up and evaluates its operations, conducts a result analysis, and formulates development measures. It is of utmost importance that everyone in the organization sees and takes responsibility for the common mission to achieve a quality education system where children and students, regardless of background, can develop as far as possible. The adapted primary school at Norrsätraskolan covers grades 1–9 and offers two orientations: subjects and subject areas. The subject orientation follows the curriculum for adapted primary school, while subject areas are intended for students who cannot benefit from all or parts of the education in subjects. The adapted primary school currently has 60 students, and each class consists of 5-8 students.

Currently, the adapted primary school is in an exciting phase where a new school is to be built and is expected to be completed in the fall of 28. The new school will have its own craft classrooms where you, as a craft teacher, will be part of the design.

We are looking for a Wood/Metal Craft Teacher for the fall of 26.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work as a craft teacher in wood and metal. You will participate in a team with music, home economics, sewing, and physical education teachers and have close collaboration with the sewing teacher as you share the subject.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, good leadership skills, the ability to create warm relationships, and a solution-focused approach are needed. A particular interest in the target group of the adapted primary school is important. You easily create trusting relationships and contribute to a safe and accessible learning environment. Sensitivity and collaboration skills are important qualities in the collegial work, where teaching is developed together. A structured approach facilitates planning and follow-up, while flexibility allows you to handle changing needs and see opportunities in new situations. An inclusive approach permeates your work and creates good conditions for all students.

For the assignment, the following is required:

• Licensed primary school teacher with a focus on wood and metal craft
• Good knowledge of the primary school's governing documents
• Good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious are knowledge of autism and experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum. Good IT skills and experience using digital tools are also meritorious.
