Polhem School is Gävle's largest high school with about 1600 students. At Polhem School, there are 10 national programs, including one preparatory program and nine vocational programs. In the adapted high school, there are 4 national programs and one individual program. Polhem School has well-developed work teams and extensive quality work aimed at increasing students' goal fulfillment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged and reliable teaching assistant who wants to help create the best conditions for our students in the adapted high school. With us, you will work closely with the students, support their development, and contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment where each individual can grow based on their own conditions.

Your responsibilities include:

• personal care such as tube feeding/mealtime situations, diaper changes/hygiene, dressing/undressing, and medication
• supervision and student focus
• educational work both indoors and outdoors
• managing challenging behavior
• collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and other authorities and agencies

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• a completed high school diploma.
• knowledge of and experience with digital tools.
• the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• experience working in adapted schools or similar activities such as residential care, short-term supervision, daily activities with individuals within our LSS target group
• previous experience working with the target group of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF) and intellectual disabilities (ID).
• experience and knowledge of working in a low-arousal manner

We would also like you to have knowledge and experience of TAKK and AKK.

To be considered for the position, you must be able to present a criminal record check from the police for work in schools.
