JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher within the unit for basic and upper secondary courses and subject levels, you work to create good conditions for each student’s learning and development.

We are looking for a licensed teacher at the upper secondary level in either Swedish, English, Swedish as a second language, and/or social studies, preferably in combination with another subject. You will primarily teach at the upper secondary level within regular adult education.

Teaching takes place in classrooms both during the day and in the evening, but also as distance education. The teaching may include courses of 10 or 20 weeks. The position is a permanent position. Since adult education has continuous admission, teaching occurs year-round, and the unit has five course start periods.

As a teacher in adult education, you work with teaching at the upper secondary level. The teaching is conducted according to established goals and guidelines and aims to provide adult students with the best possible conditions to achieve good study results. You actively contribute to the goals of the organization by challenging and supporting adult students in their knowledge development.

You collaborate with other teachers within the unit for basic and upper secondary courses as well as other staff in adult education. Together, we design good, enjoyable, and varied teaching with the best interests of adult students in focus.

Your responsibilities include:

• Planning, implementing, following up, and developing teaching for adult students at the upper secondary level
• Adapting teaching and learning environments based on adult students' individual conditions
• Documenting, following up, and analyzing results
• Contributing to an inclusive, safe, and participatory learning environment
• Collaborating with colleagues and being an active part of engaged teachers in the unit
• Working systematically and efficiently with all tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute with their expertise in adult education and who enjoys a relationship-building and developing teaching role.

Formal qualifications:

• Teaching license with subject competence in at least one of the subjects Swedish, English, Swedish as a second language, and/or social studies, preferably in combination with another subject
• High digital competence and integrates digital resources into your lessons to enhance students' learning
• Good knowledge of and familiarity with the curriculum for adult education (Lvux 12) and upper secondary school (GY25)

Your assignment as a teacher includes:

• Conducting teaching in accordance with applicable governing documents for adult education
• Conducting teaching that contributes to increased goal fulfillment
• Mapping, implementing, and following up on extra adaptations within the framework of teaching
• Collaborating with colleagues regarding students, teaching, and planning

Personal qualities:

• Relationship-building and unpretentious, with the ability to create trust in professional relationships with adult students, colleagues, and external actors
• Structured and plans your work with good foresight
• Confident and inspiring in your teaching role and motivates and engages adult students based on their individual conditions
• Collaborative and contributes to an open and trusting dialogue in all contexts

It is an advantage for the position if you have:

• Experience in teaching at adult education
• Experience in distance education
• Experience in teaching adult students with a native language other than Swedish
