Gävle municipality has a central pool of childcare workers employed by the Staffing and Recruitment Unit. The unit meets the need for staffing during short-term absences within the municipality's preschool operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an employee in the childcare worker pool, you will work with general tasks within the preschool, and during a week, the work may be carried out at several different preschools. Working in the childcare worker pool is a varied and stimulating job where you meet many different children, staff, and workgroups. You contribute to creating a positive and developing environment for all children in the municipality's preschools.

Your tasks include:

• Supporting the child group in daily activities and contributing to a safe and positive environment.
• Assisting children during meals, rest, toilet visits, and dressing.
• Supporting children in conflict resolution and social interaction.
• Participating in and sometimes leading play, activities, and educational moments.
• Being responsible for supervision and safety both indoors and outdoors.

Working as a childcare worker in the pool means that you meet the preschools' need for short-term substitutes. The job requires great flexibility as you often receive your exact working hours and workplace on the same day you are to work. You need to be prepared to travel to preschools throughout Gävle municipality.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A completed high school diploma from the Child and Leisure Program with a specialization in childcare, or another high school education combined with a vocational package focused on childcare of 1400 points, for example, through adult education.
• Knowledge of the preschool curriculum and other governing documents used within preschool operations.
• Knowledge of and experience with digital tools.
• Knowledge and experience of low-arousal approaches.

It is also an advantage if you have knowledge of TAKK/AKK as we work with signs to support early communicative behavior, as well as experience working with children with various disabilities. A driver's license is also an asset for the position.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• Strong collaboration skills and an unpretentious working style that benefits a well-functioning team in preschool's educational activities.
• The ability to create trust and confidence. You have the ability to spread calm and stability.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, which contributes to safe communication with children, guardians, and colleagues.
• You are solution-oriented and have the ability to find solutions to emerging problems.
• You are flexible and adapt to different situations and have the ability to change your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in changes.

OTHER

For this position, you must be able to present a criminal record from the police for work in schools or preschools.
