In the Lillhagen principal area, we work based on prioritized goals in Knowledge, Values, and Student Health. To assist us, we have several lead teachers who work across the area with all staff at recurring conferences and study days. High expectations for both students and staff permeate our operations. We work with collegial learning and systematic analyses and evaluations of our teaching so that both students and staff have the best opportunity for development.

Lillhagsskolan 7-9 has a well-functioning student health team that includes a school counselor, school nurse, special educator, study and career counselor, special teacher, and assistant principal. Currently, there are 8 students in our autism spectrum group. The school as a whole has about 360 students. Teachers and students are organized into work teams, of which the autism spectrum group is one, and you as a teacher in the autism spectrum group are also involved in subject teams with colleagues who teach the same subjects as you. We work according to the Gävle model, which is a municipality-wide safety initiative where all staff are involved in the value-based work. Building good relationships with students is a cornerstone of our work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you ready to make a difference for students who need special support? We are looking for an engaged employee who wants to work with a smaller group of students within our ASG operations. With us, you will have the opportunity to use your pedagogical skills and your ability to create clarity and predictability to give each student the right conditions to develop.

As a teacher in Lillhagsskolan's autism spectrum group, your responsibilities will include educating and supporting students in their social and academic development and challenging them to take their own initiatives, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others. The focus is on creating the best conditions for each student and offering a positive and developing school experience. When the student's everyday life is predictable and understandable, their chances of success increase. In the autism spectrum group, we use clarifying pedagogy to achieve this. You will work to eliminate obstacles and difficulties in the learning environment, as well as develop alternative learning environments and learning tools. The work is often done in collaboration with colleagues, and in addition to collegial support and collaboration, you will have the opportunity for a structured introduction period.

Your job responsibilities include, among other things:

• Teaching the autism spectrum group in grades 7-9.
• Being a mentor and having class responsibility.
• Being responsible for mapping, planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons according to goals and guidelines.
• Collaborating with other educators, student health, guardians, and external actors.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a teacher, you have a natural talent for leading and motivating students and creating an environment where they thrive and feel good. You create clarity and predictability to give each student the right conditions to develop according to their abilities.

We are looking for someone with:

• Teaching certification with authorization to teach in grades 7-9 in one or more subjects, preferably art.
• Knowledge of the curriculum for compulsory school.
• Good knowledge of working with digital tools in teaching and planning.
• The ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• Interest/experience in working with students in need of special support.

You as the final candidate must be able to present a criminal record from the police for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
