The Health and Civil Society Unit at the Ministry of Social Affairs works with policy areas that promote good living conditions in Sweden. The unit is responsible for issues related to public health, mental health and psychiatry, dental care, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, doping, health and infection control, civil society, sports, religious communities, and youth affairs. The unit is characterized by teamwork and a development-oriented approach. We work together to make people's lives a little better every day.

The group for sports, civil society, and youth affairs consists of about 10 employees and is responsible for the state sports policy, civil society policy, religious community issues, youth affairs, support for outdoor organizations, burial issues, and the General Heritage Fund. The group is also responsible for the government oversight of the Agency for Youth and Civil Society Affairs (MUCF).

As an administrator with us, you will be involved in several different areas of responsibility.

Areas of Responsibility

  • develop and analyze materials for the government's positions on issues related to civil society policy
  • participate in the work to develop policy, prepare cases, and coordinate efforts related to civil society policy
  • follow the work within the framework of EU cooperation and international collaboration on issues related to civil society policy
  • draft bills, letters, and departmental letters (DS)
  • work within the framework of the government's oversight of authorities
  • work with the government's dialogue with civil society
  • work on knowledge acquisition about civil society and its conditions
  • work with the state system for grants to civil society
  • manage internal and external meetings and contacts within the policy area and
  • work with budget-related tasks concerning civil society policy

The work involves extensive contacts and relationships, both within the Government Offices and externally with various stakeholders within authorities and civil society. Civil society policy is a cross-sectoral area with connections to many other policy areas.

Your Background

You have a completed academic education in social sciences, law, economics, or another relevant academic field, combined with current and relevant experience from a government authority. You also have relevant experience in governance issues, change management, and development work. Good language skills in Swedish and English are required for the role.

We would like you to have experience working within the Government Offices, dealing with issues related to civil society policy, and have also been active at the national level. It is also positive if you have experience leading groups, driving projects, and conducting dialogue work. Knowledge of Swedish public administration, civil society policy, and grant regulations is meritorious and seen as an asset in the role.

You have good collaboration skills and actively contribute to a culture characterized by a holistic view, development, and results. This means that you share your expertise and perspectives, are receptive to others, and continuously seek new ways to improve both the organization and your own work.

Other

The position is a permanent employment. A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background.
