Communicator and Project Coordinator

The Children’s Ombudsman is a government agency tasked with representing the rights and interests of children and young people based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The agency must pay special attention to ensuring that laws and other regulations and their application comply with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and promote its implementation in society. The mandate also includes informing and raising awareness on issues concerning the rights of children and young people.

The Children’s Ombudsman is now seeking a communicator and project coordinator for a permanent full-time position.

Responsibilities

As a communicator at the Children’s Ombudsman, you will be responsible for operational communication in close collaboration with the agency's employees. The position also includes project support and administrative tasks.

The responsibilities include, among others:

  • Managing administrative tasks in close collaboration with the project operations.
  • Planning, producing, and publishing content for the agency's digital channels and website.
  • Writing and tailoring texts for different channels and contexts.
  • Creating communication materials related to reports and external activities.
  • Planning, producing, and editing visual materials such as images and videos.
  • Providing communication support within the framework of the agency's projects and report work.
  • Managing parts of conferences, seminars, and web broadcasts.
  • Internal communication.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • A university degree in communication or other education and experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Several years of experience working with communication.
  • Documented experience in producing digital communication materials (text, image, video, and audio).
  • Experience working with visual content and visual design for digital channels.
  • Experience using data to develop work.
  • Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
  • Ability to tailor messages to different target groups and channels and to translate complex reasoning into clear and accessible communication.
  • Experience with structured work in planning, follow-up, project support, and administration.

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of children's rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • Experience in project administration in larger assignments or government projects.
  • Experience in communication aimed at children and young people.
  • Experience working with social media.
  • Experience in organizing events and conferences.
  • Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Optimizely.

Personal Qualities

The work requires independence, good collaboration skills, and a sense of responsibility. You are structured, have good judgment, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Furthermore, you are unpretentious and contribute to a good collaborative climate. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment. A probationary period may apply. Interviews may be conducted before the application deadline. Start date will be agreed upon.
