Digital Communicator Wanted at the Children’s Ombudsman

The Children’s Ombudsman is a government agency tasked with representing the rights and interests of children and young people based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The agency must particularly ensure that laws and regulations comply with the Convention and promote its implementation in society. The mandate also includes informing and raising awareness about issues concerning the rights of children and young people.

The Children’s Ombudsman is now seeking a digital communicator for a permanent full-time position.

Responsibilities

As a communicator at the Children’s Ombudsman, you will be responsible for communication in close collaboration with the agency's employees. In addition to regular communicator tasks, you will have a special responsibility for web communication.

  • Contribute to the agency's communication in digital channels.
  • Ongoing work with the website's content, structure, and development.
  • Write and tailor texts for different channels and contexts.
  • Provide communication support related to project work, report releases, broadcasts, and external activities.
  • Perform administrative work and internal communication.

The work is carried out independently and in collaboration with colleagues within the agency.

Qualifications

  • Higher education in communication or other education and experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Several years of experience working as a communicator.
  • Documented and current experience in web publishing using Optimizely and Umbraco, or equivalent.
  • Experience in developing web structure, usability, and digital accessibility.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
  • Ability to tailor messages for digital channels.
  • Experience in communication aimed at children and young people.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and following up on communication projects.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Accessibility Act for Digital Public Services.
  • Experience in tracking and analyzing statistics for web or social media.
  • Experience in search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Experience working within a government agency or other public sector.
  • Experience in producing and publishing digital communication materials (text, image, video, and audio).
  • Knowledge of children's rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Personal Qualities

The work requires independence, good collaboration skills, and a sense of responsibility. You are structured, meticulous, and able to prioritize tasks. You combine a user perspective with an understanding of the agency's mission and requirements for quality and accuracy. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment. A probationary period may apply. Interviews may be conducted before the application deadline. Start date is according to agreement.

The Children’s Ombudsman applies individual salary setting. Please state your salary expectations in your application.

A clean extract from the criminal record may need to be presented before employment.
