We are looking for personal assistants for a twelve-month-old boy with a tracheostomy in Björkekärr, eastern Gothenburg. The boy's needs require supervision and assistance around the clock. Since the boy breathes through a tracheostomy tube, you will always work with another assistant to ensure his breathing functions correctly. A significant part of the job involves preventing blockages in the tube by regularly suctioning mucus/saliva with a suction catheter and providing mucus-dissolving inhalations. The boy also has a feeding tube in his stomach through which he receives his food and requires mucus mobilization/position changes. The work also includes care and social interaction with the boy.

As an assistant in this assignment, you will be offered a rewarding job with a cheerful, social, and cozy little boy. The family consists of the boy's mother and father. As an assistant, you will work close to the boy - both at home and when the family goes for walks or outings. The family has an active lifestyle, and the mother, who will be on parental leave, plans to attend open preschool with the boy.

It is a great plus if you have an interest in alternative communication and sign language support.

Other requirements for you as an assistant in this assignment:

• You are a non-smoker.

• You have fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

• Training as a nursing assistant is an asset.

• Previous experience with tracheostomy is meritorious.

It is also desirable that you are cheerful, positive, and have a salutogenic approach. The chemistry and interaction between you as an assistant and the client are crucial for the quality and experience of the work.

You will receive an introduction to the medical tasks at Drottning Silvia's Children's Hospital and at home.

About the employment Employment type: Temporary as long as the assignment lasts. 85%

We offer a fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other compensations according to collective agreements (Fremia/Kommunal - Personal Assistance).

Working hours will be scheduled for evenings and nights. There is also a need for team leaders in the group.
